FirstLocal Features: Distinctive Ring

Distinctive Ring lets you know whom a call is for, before you answer it, just by the sound of the ringing. You have two different telephone numbers, each with an optional separate listing, which will ring on a single telephone line. Each number has its own special ring and can be assigned to different household members. When someone calls your main number, your phone will ring with one long ring. When your extra number is called, your phone will ring with two long rings. Wait until the full ringing pattern is complete before answering your telephone, so you know which telephone number was dialed. If you have Call Waiting, you will hear a special Call Waiting tone for your extra Distinctive Ring number.
