USF Administrative Fee Notification

Effective August 1, 2010, First Communications began charging the Universal Service Fund (USF) Administrative Fee on all Local Exchange Carriers (LEC) billed customers. The USF Administrative Fee is a monthly surcharge paid by the customer to recover costs associated with billing, collecting and remitting the federally mandated Universal Service Fee that is used to support telecommunications and information services in schools, public libraries and rural healthcare facilities as well as subsidizing local service to high-cost areas and low-income customers. This is a FCC regulated charge.
